Ansav is a free antivirus utility designed to identify, thwart and eliminate computer viruses and other malicious software (malware).

ANSAV, abbreviation from An's AntiVirus, is an application that runs on
Windows XP and was made especially to handle various mallware like virus,
Trojan and Spyware.

At this time ANSAV could have detected various newest local virus (Indonesia
Viruses) and several foreign viruses that often circulated in Indonesia, but ANSAV cannot be relied on as personal Antivirus because there are quite a few viruses that could be detected by other Antivirus softwares and were not detected by ANSAV. This was caused by the limitations of the Antivirus database (the virus definition signature).

ANSAV was developed for Indonesian purpose (local support only) although it can detect several foreign viruses, therefore your role is to always send the sample of the newest virus that still could not be detected by ANSAV, so that ANSAV would become your main weapon to eradicate the virus, especially the local virus.

Tulamben
These area have excellence coral wall with many species of fish. Some sites also have a great diversity of coral. The Tulamben shipwreck is the area highlight, offering unlimited photo opportunities at shallow depths. There is very slight current here. The beach entry over rock at the wreck dive site can be difficult if the surf is high.
Reef Type: Coastal reef, slope, wall and wreck. Access: Beach entry. Visibility: Moderate to good, 15 - 30 meters. Current: Mild. Coral: Excellent, best hard coral in Bali. Highlight: USAT Liberty ship wreck. Other: The best site for U/W photographer
Amed
This rich and varied dive hosts a wide range of fish and coral species. You can start your dive from shore towards the eastern point of bay. Or you can get the local outrigger. The fish life is vivid, with large schools of fishes, grouper and other kind of big fishes. Reef Type: Drop off and coral reef slope. Access: Beach entry or 10 minutes. Visibility: Moderate to excellent. Current: Slight. Coral: Variety of soft and hard coral. Fish: Variety species. Highlight: Wall. Other: Good for wide abgle photography.
Menjangan - North West Bali
Menjangan is an understanding dive with excellent walls and very clear water-up to 50 meters visibility. There is also wreck at 30 meters, and superb coral gardens in just 5 - 7 meters. The tiny adjoining island 120 km north west of Denpasar, accessible by boat only 15 minutes from the mainland. This area is suitable for all season diving where magnificent underwater vistas will surprise even most seasoned diver. It is rich with all kinds of sponge, sea plants, coral and fish which stretches for miles and miles on end. This area is considered the diver's paradise in Bali and words alone can not describe it's beauty. Reef Type: Wall, particularly rugged, wreck. Access: 15 minutes by boat from Labuan lalang. Visibility: Excellent to superb 25 - 50 meters. Current: Slight. Coral: Excellent, abundant soft coral. Fish: Fantastic. Highlight: Deep wall, garden ells. Other: Reef shark are common seen here.
Gili Tepekong - Gili Biaha
The coastal sites in Amuk bay are shallow and under manding with only occasional, nuld currents and visibility can be quite poor. The islands in front of Candidasa - Tepekong, Gili Mimpang and Gili Likuan offer excellent diving with a great variety of fish life, including many larger species. Temperature are usually low, and a 3 mm wet suit is almost essential. Currents can be strong and unpredictable, including downstream and surge. Reef Type: Flat-bottomed, missed reef and some. Access: 10-15 minutes by small boat from Candidasa. Visibility: Variable, poor to good, 6-20 meters. Current: Usually gentle but up to 3 knots. Coral: Scattered outcrops, fair variety. Fish: Good variety and numbers. Highlight: Titan tringgerfish, White tip reef sharks, stingray. Other: Reef sharks can be found here.
Nusa Penida - Lembongan
The dive site of Nusa Penida and nearby - Ceningan and Lembongan island require the longest boat and strong currents and surge make conditions tricky, although a good guide can usually find an alternative site. These are drop off dives, and the fish and coral variety is excellent. The water can be quite cold because of upwelling. Reef Type: Drop off, step slope. Access: 45 minutes to 1.5 hours by boat from Padang bay. Visibility: Excellence, crystal clear water. Current: Moderate to very strong (4+ knots). Coral: Very good variety of hand corals and soft corals. Fish: Excellent variety, many plagics Highlight: Large school of sweerlips, hawksbill turtle. Other: Can be very cold, current are unpredictable.

Dengan membawa misi menjadikan patung Garuda Kencana merupakan salah satu keajaiban dunia yang ke 8 dan ke 2 di Indonesia.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu : Pura ini berdiri di ujungkarang paling selatan pulau Bali. Pemandangan Indah, anda bisa menikmati samudra lautan dan juga sunset dari ujung tebing, tapi ingat monyetnya sangat nakal disini.

Batubulan : Batubulan terkenal karena pertujukan Barongnya, bilamanda anda belum pernah menyaksikan secara langsung tarian ini. datanglah ke salah satu pementasan Tari Barong di daerah Batubulan ini ada lebih dari 5 tempat pementasan Tari Barong ini, jam pertujukan mulai jam 09.00

Pasar Sukawati: pasar tradisional ini terletak di Kabupaten Gianyar dan sangat terkenal di Bali maupun luar Bali, karena anda bisa menawar harga barang yang anda inginkan. Barang-barang yang diperdagangkan di pasar sukawati spt; baju kemeja, T-shirt, sarong pantai yang disablon dengan ukiran atau gambaran seni dari Bali, lukisan dan barang kerajinan tangan lainnya. Bila musim rame di bulan libur sekolah bus-bus wisata luar Bali banyak parkir disepanjang jalan Pasar Sukawati. Di musim rame ini tentu barang yang dijual disana tidak akan murah lagi tapi atraksi menawar di Indonesia sangat mengasikkan.

Ubud : obyek wisata yang sangat terkenal dengan daerah seninya, kalo anda ingin belajar menari, melukis, mematung kayu atau batu, atau sekedar menikmati alam yang asri dipinggir sungai Ayung sambil melihat ke bawah sungai, para wisatawan bermain arung jeram, datanglah ke Ubud. Besakih : Pura terbesar di Bali. Semua umat hindu di Bali ataupun luar Bali datang ke Pura ini, untuk bersembahyang untuk pemujaan Dewa Brahma Wisnu Siwa, (Dewa pencipta, pemelihara dan Dewa Pelebur) Di Pura ini berderet pura-pura utk persembahyangan bagi umat Hindu yang memiliki atau keturunan dari arya-arya jaman dulu, spt; Arya Kenceng, Arya Pande, dll. Juga merupakan peninggalan nenek moyang tertua di Bali.

Goa Gajah : Disini dulu tempatnya kaum Brahmana mangadakan Tapa Berata, bilamana anda masuk ke dalam gua. di kiri kanan dan di Ujung dalam gua, anda akan melihat tempat strategis spt tempat untuk mengadakan yoga semadi. Di luar are Goa terdapat patung Ganeca dan permandian penduduk desa yang masih digunakan sampai sekarang.

Goa Lawah :"Goa Kelelawar" Kalo anda ingin melihat kelelawar dari dekat silahkan datang ke Goa Lawah yang terletak di Kabupaten Karangasem, sebelum anda masuk ke areal pura anda harus menggunakan pakaian yang rapi, tidak boleh menggunakan celana pendek. Disini hidup ribuan kelelawar dan anehnya bila anda melongok ke dalam atau bila anda melihat dengan zoom kamera anda, anda akan menyaksikan keajaiban di dalamnya. Hidup hanya 1 ekor kelelawar warna putih dan 1 ekor ayam hitam, 1 ekor bebek putih yang konon merupakan "Duwe" (Penjaga) dari Pura itu. Orang yang pernah masuk ke Goa Lawah (memiliki ilmu kebatinan tinggi) memberikan kesaksian disamping ribuan kelelawar yang bertengger, bergelantungan di mulut gua ada juga puluhan ular berbisa di dalamnya. Aneh sekali sedangkan binatang yang di dalamnya bisa hidup berdamopingan tanpa di mangsa satu sama lainnya.

Pura Tanah Lot : Bilamana anda ingin menyaksikan matahari tenggelam (sunset) di ufuk Barat datanglah ke Pura Tanah Lot, disamping anda bisa menyaksikan pura yang berdiri di atas karang di tengah laut di sana juga anda bisa memandang lautan samudra dari Ketinggian dan menikmati matahari terbenam di Barat. Di pura ini juga di jaga oleh 2 "Duwe" yakni ular berwarna hitam dan putih yang tiap hari kelihatan didampingi oleh pemangkunya (orang suci pengemong pura)

Pura Taman Ayun : Taman yang Ayu atau indah. Pura Taman Ayun adalah pura yang didirikan oleh Raja Mengwi pada saat Bali masih mengenal kerajaan. Pura ini dikelilingi oleh kolam yang luas, yang dulunya di pake untuk mengelilingi pura oleh dayang-dayang Puri Kerajaan Mengwi denga perahu kecil. Tapi sekarang dipakai untuk kolam mancing. Di dalam area Pura, ada "wantilan" (tempat pertemuan atau pertunjukan) disetiap Odalan atau upacara tempat ini sipake sebagai ajang adu ayam "Tajen" atau Tabuh Rah. Penduduk sekitar Mengwi akan datang berbondong-bondong datang dengan aduannya. Masuk ke dalam lagi melewati 1 pintu utama dan 2 pintu samping kiri dan kanan anda akan melewati titi yang dibawahnya ada kolam kecil lagi, dan deretan pura yang bermeru (tumpang) 7.

Tempat ini biasanya dipakai oleh wisatawan asing untuk makan malam utk tamu insentive dengan setting atau latar belakang gapura yang munjulang tinggi.

Sangeh : Di Bali banyak akan anda jumpai monyet atau kera-kera penjaga pura menandakan bahwa tempat itu ada Betaranya. Spt Sangeh puluhan monyet hidup di sekitar hutan Pura. Anda pun bisa memberi makan monyet-monyet ini, ,tapi hati-hati yang membawa perhiasan giwang, kacamata, atau pernak-pernik lainnya kalau bisa dilepas atau disembunyikan di tempat yang aman kalo anda lengah Monyet ini akan datang ke arah anda dan dengan cepatnya tangan-tangan monyet ini akan mengambil barang anda tanpa bisa berbuat apa.

Bedugul dan Danau Beratan : Bagi anda yang suka pegunungan, Bedugul adalah salah satu tempat yang menjadi pilihan. Anda bisa mampir ke kebun raya, istirahat dan membuka bekal anda, ada banyak tanaman Anggrek yang dipelihara di sini dan ada pula tanaman langka lainnya spt Bunga Bangkai yang hanya dijumpai di pulau Bangka, bisa anda temukan di Kebun Raya dan ribuan hutan belantara yang dilindungi oleh pemerintah. Atau anda mampir di pasar buah dan sayur, ataupun menikmati danau Beratan sambil menyantap Jagung rebus.

MALAY Archipelago lies directly on the volcanic belt of the world. Like the backbone of some restless, formidable antediluvian monster, more than three hundred volcanoes rise from The sea in a great chain of islands - perhaps all that remains of A continent broken up in prehistoric cataclysms - forming a continuous land bridge that links Asia with Australia. Because of its peculiar and fantastic nature, its complex variety of peoples, and its fabulous richness, the archipelago is one of the most fascinating regions of the earth. It includes famous islands like Java, Borneo, Sumatra, New Guinea, the Philippines, and the hysterical. Island-volcano of Krakatao. Such freaks of nature as the giant " dragon " lizards of Komodo, the coloured lakes of Flores, the orangutans, the rafflesia (a flower over three feet in diameter), and the birds of paradise, are to be found nowhere else, The population of the islands ranges from such forms of primitive humanity as the Negritos, the Papuans, the Kubus, who seem only a few steps away in the evolutionary scale from the orangutan, to the super civilized Hindu-Javanese, who over six hundred years ago built monuments like Borobudur and Prambanan, jewels of Eastern art.

Through the centuries, civilization upon civilization from all directions has settled on the islands over the ancient megalithic cultures of the aborigines, until each island has developed an individual character, with a colorful culture, according to whether Chinese, Hindu, Malay, Polynesian, Mohammedan, or European influence has prevailed. Despite the mental isolation these differences have created, even the natives believe that the islands once formed a unified land. Raffles, in his History of lava, mentions a Javanese legend that says, " the continent was split into nine parts, but when three thousand rainy seasons will have elapsed, the Eastern Islands shall again be reunited and the power of the white man shall end."

One of the smallest, but perhaps the most extraordinary, of the islands, is the recently famous Bali - a cluster of high volcanoes, their craters studded with serene lakes set in dark forests filled with screaming monkeys. The long green slopes of the volcanoes, deeply furrowed by ravines washed out by rushing rivers full of rapids and waterfalls, drop steadily to the sea without forming lowlands. just eight degrees south of the Equator, Bali has over two thousand square miles of extravagantly fertile lands, most of which are beautifully cultivated. Only a narrow strait, hardly two miles across, separates Bali from Java; here again the idea that the two islands were once joined and then separated is sustained by the legend of the great Javanese king who was obliged to banish his good-for-nothing son to Bali, then united to Java by a very narrow isthmus. The king accompanied his son to the narrowest point of the tongue of land; when the young prince had disappeared from sight, to further emphasize the separation, he drew a line with his finger across the sands. The waters met and Bali became an island.

The dangers lurking in the waters around the island suggest a possible reason why Bali remained obscure and unconquered until 1908. Besides the strong tidal currents and the great depths of the straits, the coasts are little indented and are constantly exposed to the full force of the monsoons; where they are not bordered by dangerous coral banks, they rise from the sea in steep cliffs. Anchorage is thus out of the question except far out to sea, and the Dutch have bad to build an artificial port in Benoa to afford a berth for small vessels.

The beginning there was nothing, all was emptiness; there was only space. Before there were the heavens, there was no earth, and when there was no earth, there was no sky. Through meditation, the world serpent Antaboga created the turtle Bedawang, on whom lie coiled two snakes as the foundation of the World. On the world turtle rests a lid, the Black Stone. There is no sun, there is no moon, there is no night in the cave below (the underside of the stone); this is the underworld, whose gods are the male Batara Kala and the female Setesuyara. There lives also the great serpent Basuki."

Kala created the light and Mother Earth, over which extends a layer of water. Over this again are consecutive domes or skies, high and low; one of mud (which dried to become the earth and the mountains); then the 'empty' middle sky (the atmosphere), where Iswara dwells; above this is the floating sky, the clouds, where Semara sits, the god of love. Beyond that follows the 'dark' (blue) sky with the sun and the moon, the home of Surya; this is why they are above the clouds. Next is the Perfumed Sky beautiful and full of rare flowers where live the bird Tiak, whose face is like a human face, the serpent Taksaka, who has legs and wings, and the awan snakes, the falling stars. Still higher in the sky gringsing wayang, the' flaming heaven of the ancestors! And over all the skies live the great gods who keep watch over the heavenly nymphs." Thus we have it that the island rests on the turtle, which floats on the ocean.

As the last Asiatic outpost to the east, Bali is interesting to the naturalist as an illustration of the theory of evolution. In 1869 Alfred Russell Wallace discovered that the fauna and flora typical of Asia end in Bali, while the earlier, more primitive biologi. cal forms found in Australia begin to appear in the neighboring island of Lombok, just east of Bali.

This is from the Catur Yoga, a popular manuscript which translated for the sake of practice on the language. It consists of ideas on cosmogony, mythology, legends of the creation of man, etc., ending in a confused set of rules for crema tion and Balinese genealogies.

Wallace drew a line across the narrow straits between Bali and Lombok, the deepest waters in the archipelago, to divide Asia from Oceania.' Today, however, scientists are more inclined to regard the islands as a transitional region.

As in all countries near the Equator, Bali has an eternal summer with even, warm weather, high humidity, and a regular variation of winds, but the unbearable heat of lands similarly situated is greatly relieved by sea breezes that blow constantly over the descending slopes of the four volcanoes that form the island. The seasons are not distinguished as hot and cold, but as wet and dry. It is pleasantly cool and dry during our summer months, when the southeasterly winds blow, but in November the north-west monsoon ushers in six months of a rainy season so violent that it makes everything rot away, growing green whiskers of mould on shoes that are not shined every day. Then the atmosphere becomes hot and sticky and the torrential rains that lash the island cause landslides that often carry enormous trees into the deep ravines cut into the soft volcanic ash by the rivers, themselves red with earth washed from the mountain. Brooks and rivers swell into huge torrents (banjir) that rise unexpectedly with a deafening roar, in front of one's eyes, carrying away earth, plants, and occasional drowned pigs, destroying bridges and irrigation works. It is not unusual for a careless bather to be surprised by a sudden banjir and to be carried away in the muddy stream.

It is only natural that in a land of steep mountains, with such abundant rains, crossed in all directions by streams and great rivers, on a soil impregnated with volcanic ash, the earth should attain great richness and fertility. The burning tropical sun shining on the saturated earth produces a steaming, electric, hot. house atmosphere that gives birth to the dripping jungles that cover the slopes of the. Volcanoes with prehistoric tree-ferns, pandanus, and palms, strangled in a mesh of creepers of all sorts, their trunks smothered with orchids and alive with leeches, fantastic butterflies, birds, and screeching wild monkeys. This exuberance extends to the cultivated parts of the island, where-the rice fields that cover this over-populated land produce every year, and without great effort, two crops of the finest rice in the Indies.

Despite the enormous population, the lack of running water has kept the western part of the island uninhabited and wild. The few remaining tigers, and the deer, wild bog, crocodiles, great lizards, jungle cocks, etc., are the sole dwellers in this and hilly country covered with a dusty, low brush. Curiously enough, the Balinese regard this deserted land (Pulaki) as their place of origin. They explain in an old legend that a great city, which still exists, once flourished there, but has been made invisible to human eyes by Wahu Rahu, the greatest Brahmana from Java, who was forced to flee from the capital, Gelgel, to save his beautiful daughter from the king (by caste his inferior) and who found refuge in Pulaki by making the city invisible to the wicked king and his followers.

Another and region in contrast with the extravagant fertility of the island is the peninsula of limestone called Tafelhoek (Bukit to the Balinese) which rises to a height of 700 feet above the sea. This curious tableland, which shows every indication of having once been at the bottom of the ocean, is joined to the mainland by 2 low, narrow isthmus, but its sides rise almost vertically from the sea, and on the extremity of a long narrow rock, with a straight drop Of 250 feet, is the fantastically situated temple of Uluwatu, one of the holiest in Bali. This projecting rock is believed to be the ship, turned to stone, of Dewi Danu, the goddess of waters.

The mountains with their likes and rivers are the home of the gods and the sources of the land's fertility, and they stand for everything that is holy and healthy. To the Balinese everything that is high is good and powerful, so it is natural that the sea, lower than the lowest point of land, with the sharks and barracuda that infest the waters, and the deadly sea-snakes and poisonous fish that live among the treacherous coral reefs, should be considered as tenget, magically dangerous, the home of the evil spirits. Few Balinese know how to Swim and they rarely venture into the sea except to bathe near the shallow beaches, and then they go only a few feet from the shore. There are small settlements of fishermen who brave the malarial coasts of Kuta, Sanur, Benua, and Ketewel, but in general fishing is done on a small scale, either with casting-nets, or in beautiful prows shaped like fantastic.

Elephant-fish " (gajah-mina) with elegant stylized trunks, and eyes to see at night. With their triangular sails apex downward, they go far out to sea at sunset to procure the giant sea-turtles required at the frequent banquets of this feast-loving people. Most Balinese seldom eat fish and remain essentially a rice-eating race. Their repugnance for the sea may be due to the same religious fear of the supernatural that prevents them from climbing to the summit of the great mountains. The Balinese feel that the heights are for the gods, the middle world for humans, and the depths and low points for the spirits of the underworld. They dread the unholy loneliness of the beaches haunted by demons and they believe that the coastline is under the influence of Jero Gede Mecaling, the Fanged Giant, who lives on the barren island of Nusa Penida. They are one of the rare island peoples in the world who turn their eyes not outward to the waters, but upward to the mountain tops.

Banyak hal menjengkelkan yang bisa terjadi pada komputer kita. Misalnya ada orang yang baik sengaja atau pun tidak sengaja menghapus file-file penting kita. Atau merubah berbagai konfigurasi pada Windows. Selain itu bisa saja orang lain melihat file-file Anda yang bersifat rahasia. Kejadian seperti itu sangat mungkin terjadi bila komputer Anda merupakan komputer “umum”. Maksudnya banyak orang lain yang turut memakai, misalnya teman, adik atau saudara. Ingat, seorang pemula (dalam hal komputer) biasanya sangat senang mencoba-coba segala sesuatu pada komputer. Nah, untuk menghindari hal-hal yang tidak kita inginkan yang terjadi pada komputer kita Anda bisa mencoba berbagai langkah berikut ini

1. Password BIOS
Pertama kali Anda mesti membuat password pada BIOS Anda. Mengapa ? Karena pada BIOS ini terdapat fasilitas untuk meng-enable dan men-disable beberapa sumber daya komputer kita. Walaupun ada cara yang mudah untuk menembus password ini, tapi setidaknya ini akan memperlambat sang penyusup.

2. Pastikan booting hanya dari harddisk.
Pada BIOS Anda, pastikan setting untuk booting hanya dari harddisk. Dengan kata lain disable fasilitas booting dari floopy disk, CD-ROM, atau media lainnya.

3. Men-disable Start-up Menu
Dengan mendisable startup menu ini maka orang lain (termasuk kita) hanya dapat booting melalui Windows (tidak bisa booting pada DOS Prompt). Caranya, pada file config.sys tambahkan : SWITCHES=/F/N to CONFIG.SYS. Pada bagian paling atas dari file autoexec.bat tambahkan :
@CTTY NUL
@BREAK OFF
@ECHO OFF
Sedang pada bagian paling akhir dari file autoexec.bat tambahkan : CTTY CON

4. Men-disable Boot Key
Maksudnya adalah mencegah penekanan tombol F8 dan F5 selama booting. Dengan menekan F8 maka akan muncul start-up menu. Cara mendisablenya : Bukalah file msdos.sys yang terletak pada direktori utama (C:\) dengan Notepad. Lalu gantilah Bootkeys=1 menjadi Bootkeys=0.

5. Menyembunyikan icon pada Control Panel
Pada Control Panel terdapat berbagai fasilitas untuk melakukan setting/konfigurasi pada komputer kita. Misalnya setting tentang password, printer, desktop themes, dll. Nah bila Anda tidak ingin ada orang lain yang ingin mengganti setting komputer Anda, Anda bisa melakukan aksi berikut, yakni menyembunyikan berbagai icon pada Control Panel. Caranya, pertama buka file control.ini yang terdapat pada folder c:\windows\control.ini (bila folder windows Anda bernama lain, silahkan disesuaikan). Lalu di bawah bagian [don’t load] silahkan masukkan fasilitas yang tidak ingin Anda tampilkan. Misalnya untuk menyembunyikan icon password silahkan tulis “password.cpl=no”. Untuk menyembunyikan icon Desktop Setting, tulis “desk.ini=no”, dan seterusnya. Untuk melihat daftar file *.cpl bisa Anda lihat di c:\windows\system.

6. Proteksi dengan Software
Proteksi dengan software bisa bermacam-macam bentuknya. Pertama enkripsi. Dengan melakukan enkripsi (penyandian) orang lain akan kesulitan untuk membuka file yang di-enkripsi. Pada waktu melakukan enkripsi kita diharuskan untuk memasukkan password, yang mana password tersebut juga akan digunakan untuk melakukan dekripsi. Dengan begitu orang yang tidak tahu passwordnya tidak akan bisa membuka file tersebut dan tidak akan tahu isinya. Contoh software yang digunakan untuk melakukan enkripsi adalah Cryptext, PGP, dll. Selain dengan enkripsi ada cara lain untuk mengamankan file-file kita, yaitu dengan menggunakan software Win-Secure It dan Folder Guard. Dengan software tersebut kita bisa menyembunyikan file/folder, mencegah eksekusi program, mencegah penghapusan (delete), dll. File yang sudah disembunyikan (hidden) tidak akan terlihat pada Windows Explorer walaupun option Show All File diaktifkan. Mencegah orang lain mengeksekusi/menjalankan program menjadi sangat penting jika Anda mempunyai software untuk melakukan konfigurasi pada Windows, seperti WinBoost, Tweak UI, Start Menu Changer, dan sebagainya.

7. Bila Anda termasuk paranoid

Dengan enam langkah di atas komputer Anda sudah mempunyai tingkat keamanan yang lumayan (tentunya bukan lumayan bagi seorang hacker). Namun bila Anda termasuk paranoid atau betul-betul takut komputer Anda diisengin orang lain Anda bisa meneruskan langkah berikutnya. Yaitu hapus atau rename-lah file-file yang termasuk kategori “berbahaya” bila dijalankan, seperti fdisk.exe, format.exe, dll.Beragam alasan yang bisa dikemukakan mengapa melindungi data menjadi satu hal yang sangat penting, diantaranya adalah : Melindungi supaya tidak ada orang lain yang bisa membuka file data Anda.
* Melindungi data atau dokumen supaya orang lain hanya bisa melihat isi dokumen Anda, tidak bisa menambah atau pun memodifikasi data.
* Melindungi file executable (file *.exe) dari serangan virus.
* Mencegah orang lain menjalankan file executable. Dalam aplikasinya Anda bisa mencegah orang lain menjalankan game yang ada di komputer Anda atau mencegah orang lain menjalankan program yang cukup riskan untuk dijalankan oleh sembarang orang.
* Mencegah orang lain membuat file atau folder baru pada folder yang telah Anda tentukan.
* Menyembunyikan data Anda sehingga orang lain tidak dapat melihatnya walaupun setting pada Folder Options - View berada pada Show All Files.

Maka beruntunglah — dalam hal keamanan data — orang yang menggunakan sistem operasi Linux, Windows NT dan Windows 2000 karena ketiga sistem operasi tersebut mempunyai tingkat keamanan yang cukup tinggi. Bagaimana halnya dengan sistem operasi seperti Windows 95, 98 dan Windows ME. Tidak dapat dipungkiri sebagian besar pemakai perseorangan mengandalkan Win 9x dan ME untuk sistem operasinya. Mungkin termasuk Anda. Lalu bagaimanakah cara melindungi data penting Anda tanpa harus mengganti sistem operasi ?

Cara yang paling mudah adalah dengan menggunakan program proteksi yang banyak beredar di internet. Salah satunya adalah File Protector. Ada beberapa macam proteksi yang ditawarkan oleh software berukuran sekitar 80 Kb ini, yaitu :
* Read Only : Mencegah terjadinya overwrite, modifikasi, append (penambahan data), mencegah rename (disable rename), dan mencegah penghapusan (disable delete) pada file atau directory yang diproteksi.
* No Access :Sama dengan feature Read Only dengan beberapa tambahan untuk mencegah data Anda dibuka (disable open), dibaca (disable read), dan dieksekusi/dijalankan (disable execute).

* Protect from virus : Mencegah dari serangan virus Dengan interface yang sederhana, Anda dapat melakukan berbagai setting pada File Protector dengan sangat mudah bahkan untuk seorang pemula sekalipun. Pengadilan Batalkan Gugatan Microsoft Soal Pembajakan

Pengadilan Rusia membatalkan kasus yang diajukan Microsoft terhadap seorang guru, karena menggunakan software Microsoft yang tidak berlisensi pada 12 komputer di sekolahnya.

Seperti dijelaskan juru bicara pengadilan di distrik Vereshchaginsky yang mengurus kasus ini, tuntutan yang diajukan tersebut bukan merupakan hal yang serius tetapi hanya sesuatu yang sepele sehingga kasus ini tidak dilanjutkan.

Alhasil, Alexander Ponosov, sang guru yang juga menjabat sebagai kepala sekolah, bebas dari ancaman kurungan penjara di Siberia. Pihak jaksa penuntut akhirnya diberikan waktu 10 hari untuk mengajukan banding karena Microsoft belum memberikan respon atas hasil keputusan pengadilan.

"Saat ini kami libur untuk merayakannya, hal ini (tuntutan-red) tentu sesuatu yang sepele," ujar Ponosov, sepertil dilansir Associated Press dan dikutip detikINET, Jumat (16/2/2007).

Seperti pernah diberitakan sebelumnya, kasus ini sempat menghebohkan karena mengundang reaksi beberapa orang yang sangat berpengaruh di Rusia. Mereka menganggap gugatan Microsoft seharusnya tidak dilakukan karena software tersebut hanya digunakan untuk keperluan pendidikan di sekolah.

Mantan pemimpin Uni Soviet, Mikhail Gorbachev, bahkan sempat mengirim surat kepada pemilik Microsoft Bill Gates agar memberikan kemurahan hati untuk mencabut tuntutan mereka kepada sang guru.

Sementara itu, Presiden Rusia Vladimir Putin berpendapat, seharusnya yang menjadi target untuk anti pembajakan adalah pembuat barang bajakan tersebut, dan bukan kepada konsumen.

Sebagai informasi, pemerintah Rusia saat ini sedang berjuang menumpas kasus-kasus pembajakan dalam usahanya untuk bergabung dengan organisasi perdagangan dunia (World Trade Organization/WTO).

Sejarah Napoleon Bonaparte Tidak Mati Diracun

Kematian Napoleon Bonaparte dua abad lalu menyisakan misteri yang menarik untuk digali. Sebagian ahli sejarah masih berpendapat bahwa hidupnya berakhir karena racun arsen, namun penelitian terakhir menunjukkan tidak.

Sejak dikalahkan Inggris pada tahun 1815, Kaisar Perancis yang sempat menikmati masa-masa kejayaan dengan menguasai hampir seluruh daratan Eropa itu dikucilkan pada pulau terpencil di Samudera Atlantik bagian selatan, Pulau St. Helena. Enam tahun kemudian, Bonaparte menghembuskan napas terakhirnya di usia 52 tahun.

Otopsi yang dilakukan saat itu menunjukkan bahwa kanker usus menjadi penyebab kematiannya. Namun, sejumlah racun arsen yang ditemukan pada tahun 1961 di rambutnya memicu kontroversi bahwa ia diracun. Alasan ini masuk akal sebab pengaruhnya di Eropa masih sangat besar sehingga dikhawatirkan akan membenrontak jika ia lepas kembali seperti yang dilakukan sebelumnya saat dikucilkan pertama kali di Pulau Elba. Tapi, semua itu baru sebatas spekulasi.

Rekam medis

Untuk menguak teka-teki tersebut, sejumlah peneliti dari Universitas Texas Barat Daya mempelajari catatan medis dokter yang memeriksanya saat itu, mengumpulkan laporan saksi mata dan sejarah kesehatan keluarganya, serta membandingkannya dengan teknik otopsi modern. Hasilnya menunjukkan, pendarahan usus mungkin faktor utama penyebab kematian secara mendadak itu.

"Meski ia lepas dari pulau tersebut, kondisi tubuhnya tidak akan mendukung. Kalaupun diobati sekarang, ia hanya tahn setahun," kata peneliti utamanya Robert Genta yang melaporkan hasil penelitiannya dalam Nature Clinical Practice Gastroenterology and Hepatology edisi Januari. Ia mengatakan, dengan teknik pembedahan dan kemoterapi sekalipun, pasien dengan kanker usus seperti dia akan sulit diobati. Beijing, Kurang lebih 10.000 situs dot com terancam tak bisa digunakan. Ini merupakan salah satu dampak lumpuhnya koneksi internet di Asia setelah gempa di Taiwan.

The Beijing Times, yang dikutip detikINET Sabtu (6/1/2007), melaporkan, hampir 10.000 pengelola situs di Cina terancam kehilangan hak penggunaan nama domain .com mereka menyusul gempa di Taiwan. Gempa tersebut telah mengguncang mayoritas saluran telekomunikasi internasional, memutuskan tak kurang dari 7 jalur serat optik di perairan Taiwan.

Putusnya saluran itu, selain menyebabkan sulitnya mengakses situs luar negeri, juga menyulitkan para pemilik nama domain tersebut mendaftar ulang .com mereka. "Sejauh ini, sejumlah besar nama domain yang dimiliki oleh kalangan bisnis Cina telah diambil oleh para investor di luar negeri. Hal ini yang menyebabkan dunia bisnis mengalami kerugian," ungkap harian tersebut tanpa merinci besarnya kerugian.

Selain itu juga dilaporkan lebih dari 9000 pemegang telah kehilangan penggunaan alamat .com mereka, dan jumlah tersebut diperkirakan akan meningkat seiring dengan koneksi internet yang masih 'terbata-bata'. Apalagi mengingat nama domain .com dikelola oleh perusahaan yang berbasis di Amerika Serikat.

Microsoft Batalkan Empat Patch

Jakarta, Setiap bulan Microsoft menerbitkan tambalan bagi berbagai kelemahan di produk-produk Microsoft. Bulan ini, Microsoft sudah mengumumkan akan melansir delapan tambalan. Namun tiba-tiba pengumuman itu dikoreksi dan empat tambalan dibatalkan.

Seperti dikutip detikINET dari Cnet, Sabtu (6/1/2007), pembatalan itu dilakukan tanpa merinci alasannya. Empat tambalan yang akan dikeluarkan Microsoft terdiri dari tiga untuk Microsoft Office dan satu untuk Windows. Dua dari empat tambalan itu bersifat kritis (sangat penting).

Empat tambalan yang dibatalkan terdiri dari satu tambalan untuk Windows dan Visual Studio, satu untuk Windows dan Office, serta dua tambalan untuk Windows. Kemungkinan keempat tambalan itu sedang disempurnakan untuk dilansir pada siklus berikutnya.

Dampak dari pembatalan ini adalah, ada celah pada piranti lunak Microsoft yang masih tetap menganga. Belum jelas kelemahan mana yang terpengaruh.

Kronologis Pemulihan Koneksi Internet

Jakarta, Koneksi internet ke jalur internasional sebenarnya belum pulih seperti sediakala. Perbaikan-perbaikan sedang dilakukan di perairan Taiwan, inilah kronologisnya.
Kronologis perbaikan itu disampaikan oleh praktisi teknologi informasi Irvan Nasrun kepada detikINET, Sabtu (6/1/2007). Diperkirakan pemulihantotal kabel serat optik bawah laut akan rampung pada 30 Januari 2007.

Berikut ini kronologis perbaikannya:

1. Serat optik SMW3 (South East Asia-Middle East-Western Europe), segmen 1.8 (Fangshan - BU4) ke Fangshan terputus pada tanggal 26 Desember (12:25 UTC/19:25 WIB), apabila tidak ada halangan akan aktif pada tanggal 8 Januari 2007. Lokasi putusnya kabel ini berada pada KM 44 dari 'Fangshan Cable Station.

2. CUCN (China US Cable Network) segmen 1, apabila tidak ada halangan kabel yang menghubungkan antara Cina dan Amerika Serikat ini akan aktif pada tanggal 12 Januari 2007.

3. SMW3 segmen 1.7 (BU3-BU4), diperkirakan akan aktif pada tanggal 15 Januari 2007. Lokasi putusnya kabel ini adalah KM 459 dari 'Shantou Cable Station.

4. CUCN W2-3, kabel ini akan bisa digunakan pada tanggal 18 Januari 2007.

5. APCN (Asia Pacific Cable Network) System 2 Segment B5 putus pada pukul 20:44 UTC tanggal 26 Desember 2006 (27 Desember 2006, 03:44 WIB). Lokasi putusnya kabel ini berada pada jarak 920 kilometer dari 'Toucheng Cable Station'. Apabila tidak ada masalah kabel APCN System 2 Segment B5 ini akan aktif pada tanggal 20 Januari 2007.

6. APCN System 1 Segment B17 yang terputus pada 26 Desember 2006 pukul 18.15 UTC (01.15 WIB, 27 Desember 2006). Apabila tidak ada perubahan, akan aktif pada tanggal 30 Januari 2007.

Kabel SMW3, ujar Irvan, memiliki panjang 39.000 kilometer dan merupakan kabel terpanjang di dunia. Kabel ini selesai dibangun pada akhir tahun 2000. Sedangkan untuk kabel APCN (12.000 km) dan CUCN (26.000 km) dibangun pada akhir tahun 1997.
